Akaroa Harbour is a destination. It isn’t on the way to anywhere. It is a great place to relax and be pampered after long haul flights or to spend a few days before leaving the South Island. Our home grown organic fruit, vegetables, nuts and free range eggs are combined with the best local produce to create gourmet cuisine which we can match with fine New Zealand wines. Just unwind at Matua Gardens Retreat or explore the many tours, the winery, artisan shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants in the area.
Matua Gardens Retreat is best shared with someone you love however, singles are warmly welcomed too. We specialize in tailor made packages especially romantic celebrations such as honeymoons, anniversaries, proposals and birthdays.

Traditional Bed & Breakfast includes a range of snacks, beverages, home made cookies, local cheese, cooked breakfast & 10.30 am check out. From $395 to $450 per night per couple.
Celebration as above plus 5 course dinner, fine wines matched to the menu, 3 pm check out, Luxury gift pack, Victorian afternoon tea, handmade chocolates, bottle of bubbly and other extras. Choose music, toiletry fragrance, candle selection, pillows. A selection of menus is provided prior to arrival. From $1000 to $1135 per couple per night.
Luxury traditional B&B, 5 course dinner & matched wines. Choose music, toiletry fragrance, candle selection, pillows. Standard check out. From $835to $895 per couple per night.
Fusion is a 2 night package with all the benefits of the Celebration including dinner on one night, 2 nights accommodation, late check out, etc. From $1345 to $1535 per couple per night.
